Lighthouse Beach is where most tourists spend their time. Hawah Beach nearby feels slightly calmer in the mornings before larger crowds arrive. Bekal Beach

Bekal feels slower than the southern beach circuit. Less commercial too. The fort beside the coastline changes the whole atmosphere of the place. Even people who are not particularly interested in history end up spending extra time there because the sea views from the fort walls are genuinely good, especially after the monsoon, when everything turns greener.
Swimming isn’t always recommended here because currents can become unpredictable. Most visitors simply walk around, sit near the beach, or spend time taking photographs. Which, honestly, suits Bekal better than loud activity tourism.
Alappuzha Beach

Alappuzha Beach feels more local and less curated. The old pier is still the main landmark here. It’s weathered, not particularly glamorous, but somehow that works in its favour. Late afternoons are the best time to visit because the midday heat around Alleppey can get exhausting fast.
